Colorado Vocal Educators Program
The Vocal Educators Program has recently been created and understandably there are very few details available at this time. However, we can give you an outline of the program's purpose and goals.
Funded by CASA's Jonathan Minkoff A Cappella Award, the Vocal Educators program will be performance based for all participating groups. We believe in order to teach properly, vocal students need hands on training, i.e. performance!
A professional staff of teachers and vocalists will teach clinics in middle schools and high schools around Colorado. These clinics will focus on technique, performance, blend, vocal character, and arranging. At the conclusion of each group's 3 scheduled clinics, a strategically placed showcase concert will be held featuring not only a local professional group, but also a handfull of the middle and high school groups. 3-4 scholastic groups will be featured at a time with a goal of 500-750 audience members at each show.
The clinics will all be offered free of charge and the only obligation the schools will have is to provide a free venue to host the concert in. Music styles, choices, and clinic subjects are all up the local director and can be arranged ahead of time.
In order to cover our costs of the free clinics, sound engineering, concert fees, promotions, and travel, all proceeds generated at the showcase concerts will be the property of Colorado A Cappella.
